Malvern Roosters is pleased to announce that we will be fielding teams in U11s, U13s, U15s and U17s ISEC competitions in 2024/2025
Registrations have opened and the process begins here
There is an expectation that lower age group capacities will be reached shortly thereafter: particularly Friday night U11s & U13s. Successful registrations will be placed in teams once registrations hit their maximum nunbers. Do not be late. We will operate a wait list, however past seasons have shown that very few players get an opportunity for their preferred game time if they register late.

If numbers are exhausted for Friday night, opportunities may be available to play Saturday or Sunday mornings. These opportunities will be presented to you on a first registered, first placed basis
To be eligible to play in an age group you must be under the age as of 1st of September. For example, you must be 10 (or younger) on 1 September 2024 to play in U11s. To play Friday night U11s, you must also be born before the 1st of September 2016. If you are born after this date, you will be offered the opportunity to play on Saturday or Sunday at an appropriate competitive grade level

For training and matches, there is a club uniform which can be found here Like Tennis, Cricket requires a certain level of equipment. For your Junior to get the most out of their playing days, it is strongly recommended that players get the basics: bat, pads, gloves, helmet and protector. Most sporting stores (Rebel Sport, Greg Chappell Cricket Centre) sell a starter cricket kit with these basics. Their kit will be used both at Training and Game Day, and if cared for, will last multiple seasons.
Malvern Roosters ethos across age groups is;

U11 teams are largely formed based on friendship requests, age of player, school groupings, and competitive cricket experience

U13 B & C are largely formed based on past cricket results and, in part, friendship requests. Players requesting to “play up” an age group will be assessed on previous year’s performance for eligibility
U13A’s team/s are fully selected teams. Selection is at the sole discretion of the selection panel, including the Junior President and Administration Officer. To be selected in U13As, players must have played U13A’s or U13B’s in the prior season, or be U13C performance award winners
