Presidents Welcome
A very warm welcome to another season of Roosters cricket. The 2023/24 promises to be another busy season with over 240 cricketers registered in the junior section across 25 teams
This is my first year as President and I look forward to building on the legacy left by Shaun Beattie and continue to make this the go to club for junior cricketers in Stonnington. Most notably we want to further strengthen our ties with the senior section of the club. Last year we had 12 U15s playing for the senior 3rd and 4th XIs at various times and we hope this will continue
Also strengthening these ties will be our new director of junior coaching, Michael Beer, who captained the senior 1st XI for the last 2 years after a 10-year career with Australia, WA, Victoria, Perth Scorchers and Melbourne Stars. Beery grew up playing his cricket at Malvern and we are very fortunate to have someone of his calibre steering the coaching ship. The third generation of the Beer family is currently going through the junior ranks at the moment and Michael will be a fully invested parent as well
